Competitive Diving
There are different freediving organisations worldwide. The
internationaly most important organisation is AIDA (Association Internationale pour le
Dévelopement de l'Apnée). Besides it there are others like
CMAS or FFESSM. In Switzerland competitions are mostly held
accoring to the AIDA rules. It offers the following disciplines:
Pool Disciplines
- Static (STA)
- The athlete holds his breath as long as possible. The time is
measured as long as his airways are submerged.
- Dynamic (DYN)
- The athlete dives the longest distance he is able to do. He
may use fins.
- Dynamic No Fins (DNF)
- The athlete dives the longest distance he is able to do. He
may not use fins.
Deepdiving Dsiciplines
- Constant Weight (CWT)
- The athlete tries to go as deep as he is able to and back
to the surface. He may use a fin as an aid.
- Constant Weight No Fins (CNF)
- The athlete tries to go as deep as he is able to and back
to the surface. He may not use any aids.
- Free Immersion (FIM)
- The athlete tries to go as deep as he is able to and back
to the surface. He is allowed to pull himself down and up the
rope.
Record only Disciplines
No competitions are held in these disciplines. However AIDA keeps records about it.
- Variable Weight (VWT)
- The athlete tries to go as deep as he is able to and
back to the surface. He ist pulled down by weight and
has to ascend to the surface by his own.
- No Limit (NLT)
- The athlete tries to go as deep as he is able to and
back to the surface. He ist pulled down by a weight and is lifted
to the surface by a lifting device.

- National record depth (CWT): -81 metres, 10th place
- 6th place in the Free Immersion (FIM) ranking

- 28. - 29. January 2012: 10me Coupe des Dauphins - comeback after dorsal fracture in august 2011
- 1st place Static and 3rd Place in overall ranking

- 1st place Constant Weight
- 23. - 25. June 2011: FDD Tripple Depth, Dahab, Egypt
- 2nd Place overall ranking
- 19. February 2011: Berlin Masters Cup, Berlin, Germany
- National record and 1st place static (8:09), 3rd place overall ranking.
